Introduction
In the year 2018, the Central Minister of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh, had emphasized on special attention to coconut production in Bihar and had spoken about implementing schemes for the farmers. Now, in the financial year 2024-2025, farmers in Begusarai district are benefiting from this horticulture scheme. This means that farmers in Begusarai district will now receive government assistance to cultivate coconuts, ensuring that even their future generations can enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Coconut Cultivation Benefits
Coconuts are a unique fruit, as a tree planted by a great-grandfather in childhood can yield fruits that their great-grandchildren can enjoy. The Indian government, in collaboration with the Coconut Development Board and the Horticulture Department, is working towards planting coconuts in your fields. Surprisingly, in coconut gardens, you can also grow other fruits, vegetables, turmeric, fish farming, and even foxnut cultivation.
Subsidies and Registration Process
Under the Coconut Expansion Scheme, efforts are being made to increase coconut production by providing subsidies. The cost of one coconut plant has been fixed at Rs. 80, and farmers in Begusarai district can avail 75% subsidy, receiving Rs. 63.75 per plant. The target is to plant 2000 coconut plants in the district, and interested farmers need to contact their local Horticulture Department to avail the benefits of the scheme. Additionally, to benefit from the scheme, farmers need to provide land receipts, bank passbook copies, Aadhar card, and a photo at the Coconut Development Board office for offline registration.
वर्ष 2018 में केंद्रीय कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण मंत्री राधा मोहन सिंह ने बिहार में नारियल के उत्पादन को लेकर ध्यान दिया था और बेगूसराय जिले के किसानों के लिए योजना संचालित करने की बात कही थी. अब उन्हें वित्तीय वर्ष 2024-2025 में इस योजना का लाभ मिल रहा है, जिससे वे नारियल की खेती कर सकेंगे और सरकारी सहायता प्राप्त कर परपोता तक फल खिला सकेंगे। नारियल की खेती के साथ-साथ अन्य फलों और सब्जियों की खेती भी की जा सकेगी। इस योजना से किसानों को 75 फीसदी सब्सिडी भी मिलेगी और नारियल के उत्पादन में बढ़ोतरी होगी।
