Big Success for Gopalganj Police
In a major success for Gopalganj Police in Bihar, three cyber criminals belonging to an international gang were arrested from the Balthari check post on the UP-Bihar border. The police seized 8774 SIM cards and Nepalese currency from the three youths who hail from Malda district in West Bengal. These criminals were caught while trying to smuggle the items from Delhi to Kathmandu via the Sonauli border.
Arrest and Identification of the Youths
The arrested youths have been identified as Mohammad Asamoul Sheikh (24), Riyazul Sheikh (34), and Noor Alam (39). They were residents of different areas in Malda district, West Bengal. The police intercepted their car during a routine vehicle check at the Balthari check post and found the illegal items in their possession.
Preparation to Smuggle Items to Nepal
The police revealed that the arrested youths had purchased SIM cards from Delhi with the intention of taking them to Nepal. Some of the SIM cards were already activated, while others were not. The police also uncovered transactions worth lakhs of rupees on the mobile phones seized from the criminals. The authorities are now taking action against these international cyber criminals involved in the smuggling operation.
