Attempt to run over Bihar Police during vehicle inspection in Gopalganj
Bihar Police, who were inspecting vehicles in relation to the Lok Sabha elections, were once again targeted in an attempt to run them over with a vehicle and the Station House Officer was threatened with dire consequences. The incident took place near Neuri Bridge in the Madhopur police station area of Gopalganj district. The individuals who issued the threat are Mantu Singh, the head of Safapur Panchayat in the Manjha police station area, and Vikas Singh, a district council member. A video of this incident is rapidly going viral on social media. The police have initiated action against these individuals, including filing a complaint against them.
Details of the Incident
The police received information near Gandak Canal in the Madhopur police station area that some criminals were planning to commit a crime on the evening of April 22. The Station House Officer, Vineet Vinayak, along with a police team, reached near Neuri Bridge and began inspecting vehicles. During the vehicle inspection, the black car of the head of Safapur Panchayat arrived, which had a flag of Jan Suraj on it. When the police stopped the car for inspection, Mantu Singh and Vikas Singh started creating a scene. The situation escalated when the Station House Officer arrived and asked to check the car, leading to the individuals threatening the police and demanding to remove their uniforms. Subsequently, the head of the Panchayat instructed the driver to drive past the police officers. The police narrowly escaped on the spot and later chased the vehicle, but all the individuals managed to flee.
Four individuals booked in Madhopur police station
Taking the incident seriously, the police have filed a complaint against four individuals at the Madhopur police station. This includes Mantu Singh, the head of Safapur Panchayat in Manjha police station area, Vikas Singh, a district council member, Upendra Prasad alias Upendra Mahato from Alapur village, and the vehicle driver. The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Pranjal, stated that after filing the complaint, the police are conducting raids to arrest the accused. Those who threatened the police and attempted to run them over with a vehicle will not be spared under any circumstances and will be arrested.
