Success Story of Shankar Singh in Madhumakkhi Palan

Shankar Singh, a resident of Pusa Block in Samastipur district, started beekeeping on the advice of his relative Sadhu. With no prior knowledge of the business, he began with 25 boxes and now owns 600 boxes, earning a profit of 7 to 8 lakhs annually. He also provides employment to six individuals and sells his honey in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand.

Challenges Faced in Beekeeping

Despite the success, Shankar Singh acknowledges the occasional challenges in beekeeping, especially during adverse weather conditions. He emphasizes the importance of foggy weather in the morning till 10:00 AM for better honey production. He also highlights the need for customer acquisition, mentioning that customers usually visit his place directly for purchasing honey.

Potential Growth in Honey Business

Shankar Singh reveals that by managing expenses effectively, he is able to save a significant amount of his earnings. With the possibility of earning up to 10 to 12 lakhs if business continues to thrive, he credits his relative Sadhu for introducing him to the profitable venture of beekeeping.
