The maximum temperature was recorded in Aurangabad, while the minimum temperature in Sabour, Bhagalpur, dropped to 4 degrees. The weather department has predicted that the cold weather will continue in Bihar for the next two days.

The impact of heavy snowfall in the hilly regions is being felt in Bihar as well. People had to face bone-chilling cold on Republic Day. Cold wave alerts have been issued in several districts of Bihar. The weather department has informed that there will be no relief from the cold until January 29. The active Western Disturbance in the western Himalayan region has started to directly affect the weather in Bihar. Its impact was expected to be seen in Bihar from January 27. The cold has intensified since Saturday morning.

According to the report released by IMD Patna, the maximum temperature in Aurangabad on Friday was recorded at 22.6 degrees, with a drop of 3.3 degrees. Meanwhile, Gopalganj, Motihari, Pupri, Farbisganj (Araria), and Chapra have witnessed a decrease in maximum temperatures. The maximum temperature in Purnia was recorded at 18.1 degrees, while Bhagalpur recorded a maximum temperature of 18.5 degrees. The weather department has issued a cold wave alert.
