Action Plan Implemented

The Regional Poultry Farm’s Assistant Manager, Dr. Ganesh Ram Mahli, stated that instructions have been given to dispose of all birds and eggs in the poultry farm and its one-kilometer radius. The farm has been sanitized after disposing of 1697 eggs and 1800 birds. A sample has been sent to Kolkata for confirmation. Dr. Mahli emphasized the importance of raising awareness among people to avoid consuming chicken to prevent the spread of infection.

Precautions Against Bird Flu

Doctors advise people, especially children, to take precautions to prevent infection from bird flu. Avian influenza, also known as bird flu, can spread from birds to humans. Dr. Manoj Kumar from the Microbiology Department explained that while the virus primarily affects birds, humans can also be infected. The infection mainly spreads from infected birds to humans through contact with migratory birds, chickens, and pigs.
