BJP vs RJD in Araria
In the Araria Lok Sabha seat in Bihar, the battle between BJP and RJD is heating up. However, a new twist has emerged with rebel JD(U) candidate Dr. Shatrughan Suman also making a strong claim. Son of former MLA Murli Manohar Mandal, Shatrughan Suman has contested elections twice from Sikti Assembly constituency and has a good hold on the backward caste vote bank.
Rebel Candidate Shatrughan Suman
In the 2015 Bihar Assembly elections, Shatrughan Suman received over 68,000 votes as a JD(U) candidate, and in the 2020 elections, he received over 70,000 votes as an RJD candidate. This time, after being denied a ticket, he is in the electoral field as a rebel candidate. Coming from a backward caste, Shatrughan Suman also has a strong grip on the marginalized community’s vote bank.
Atipichhri Vote Bank
With the third phase of voting scheduled for May 7th in Araria, all candidates are actively campaigning. While BJP and RJD are in direct competition on this seat, independent candidate Shatrughan Suman is making efforts to sway the marginalized vote bank. If he successfully mobilizes the votes of the backward caste, the story of victory and defeat between BJP and RJD candidates may take a different turn.
