BJP candidate Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal files nomination from West Champaran Lok Sabha seat
BJP candidate Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, who filed his nomination from the West Champaran Lok Sabha seat, has declared assets worth Rs 12.95 crore, while his wife owns assets worth Rs 3.20 crore. During the filing of nomination papers, Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal mentioned in the affidavit that he possesses a pistol and a rifle, along with using a mobile worth Rs 95,000.
Multiple cases registered against BJP candidate Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal
BJP candidate Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, contesting from West Champaran, has five cases registered against him in various police stations of the state, which are pending in different courts. The majority of these cases, four in number, are related to horse trading in East Champaran. However, all cases are related to violation of the Model Code of Conduct. Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal is a debtor of just Rs 13,000. The SBI branch of Parliament in Delhi has a due amount of Rs 13,525 against BJP candidate Sanjay Jaiswal.
Tough competition between BJP and Congress on West Champaran seat
The West Champaran seat is witnessing a direct contest between BJP and Congress. While BJP candidate Sanjay Jaiswal is pitted against former MLA Madan Mohan Tiwari from Bettiah Sadar. Madan Mohan Tiwari is considered a grassroots leader with influence in his organization. Congress has made efforts to consolidate the Brahmin vote bank, considered the core vote bank of the NDA. On Tuesday, during the nomination of Sanjay Jaiswal, Bihar’s Deputy CMs Sushil Kumar Modi and Vijay Sinha were present along with LJP’s Chirag Paswan and Raju Tiwari.
