Life across Bagmati River in Mujaffarpur

In some villages of Aurai, Katra, and Gayghat in Mujaffarpur, people rely on boats to cross the Bagmati River for their daily livelihood. With no solid road connectivity from the villages, the Tar and Chachari bridge serve as the only means to navigate across the river.

Building Bridges for Survival

To facilitate the construction of the Chachari bridge, villagers come together and pool in funds through rural donations. This community effort helps in creating a sustainable solution for the villagers to cross the river and access essential resources on the other side.

Challenges and Resilience

Despite the lack of proper infrastructure, the residents of these villages showcase resilience and determination by using innovative methods like boat crossings and bridge construction to overcome the challenges posed by the Bagmati River. The sense of community and collective effort plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of the villagers in Mujaffarpur.
