Champai Soren Cabinet: Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has won the trust vote in the assembly, securing his government’s position. Now all eyes are on the cabinet of Champai. The Mahagathbandhan alliance consists mainly of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Champai Soren is the Chief Minister from JMM. Satyanand Bhokta from RJD and Alamgir Alam from Congress have already taken oath as members of the cabinet.
Jharkhand government can have a total of 11 ministers apart from the Chief Minister. The cabinet expansion will see the filling of positions for ministers from JMM and Congress. It is believed that the swearing-in of the council of ministers could take place on 8th February. Champai Soren has turned the tables on the BJP. He has stated that the government was formed for five years and there are no allegations against him. If Hemant Soren is furthering the work of the government, then will it be a part one or part two? The opposition does not have any issues, so they are making such statements. The CM has said that the expansion of the cabinet will happen very soon.
Jharkhand MLA Sita Soren is likely to be included in Champai Soren’s cabinet. When asked by the media, she said that she is not angry. She expressed the possibility of being included in the council of ministers and said that everything will be decided by Baba (Shibu Soren). If she receives his blessings, then she will definitely become a minister. There might also be a place for Basant Soren.
After gaining the trust vote, Chief Minister Champai Soren has mentioned the expansion of the cabinet. This is an election year and Champai Soren has to work on many fronts. He is not in favor of delaying issues. Lobbying has also begun to secure a place in the cabinet. Several Congress MLAs are hoping to openly become ministers and are making claims. According to sources, there is not much possibility of major changes. It is clear in Jharkhand. There is more enthusiasm regarding ministers from the Congress quota. Party MLAs have increased pressure for a change in faces. A senior party leader has stated that due to Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, a final decision could not be made on this matter.
It might take some time for the Jharkhand cabinet to be formed. Currently, the names of the ministers from JMM and Congress who will take the oath are not decided. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Alamgir Alam has stated that the expansion of the council of ministers will happen very soon. Due to Rahul Gandhi’s yatra, there has been no discussion on the names yet. Suggestions will be sent to the top leadership from Jharkhand in the next one to two days. The government’s effort will be to start the budget session from 23rd February. Preparation for this is also underway.
