Champai Soren, the leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), took oath as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Friday. Congress party’s Alamgir Alam and RJD’s Satyanand Bhokta also took oath as ministers. Champai Soren was sworn in as the Chief Minister by Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Thursday.
Before taking oath, Champai Soren met Shibu Soren. He said that Guruji (Shibu Soren) is our role model and we came to seek blessings from him and Mataji (Rupi Soren) before taking oath. I have been associated with the Jharkhand movement and I am their disciple.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Champai Soren, along with other JMM leaders, left for Hyderabad. A senior party leader said that we were given a 10-day deadline to prove majority in the government. We cannot take any risks during this time as the BJP may try to contact our MLAs. A video released by the JMM-led coalition on Thursday showed support from 43 MLAs out of the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly.
Champai Soren, the leader of the JMM legislative party, urged the Governor to accept his claim to form the government as the state was in a state of confusion. This situation arose due to the absence of a Chief Minister in the state since Hemant Soren’s resignation on Wednesday, deepening the political crisis.
Congress state president Rajesh Thakur said that Champai Soren has been given a 10-day deadline to prove majority in his government. Congress is a supporting party in the JMM-Congress-RJD alliance in the state. Champai Soren had earlier said that we are united and our alliance is strong, no one can break it.
Meanwhile, the BJP has raised questions in the matter. Jharkhand BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdev said that for the past two days, leaders of the ruling coalition in Jharkhand have used disrespectful language for the Governor and central leaders. Even the first letter had technical errors. We hope that the dark chapter of Hemant Soren’s four-year rule in Jharkhand is not repeated. It is clear that while Champai Soren may have become the Chief Minister, the power strings will still be in the Soren family.
झारखंड मुक्ति मोर्चा (झामुमो) के नेता चंपई सोरेन ने झारखंड के मुख्यमंत्री पद की शपथ ली है। इसके साथ ही कांग्रेस पार्टी के आलमगीर आलम और राजद के सत्यानंद भोक्ता ने भी मंत्री के रूप में शपथ ली है। चंपई सोरेन को राज्यपाल ने मुख्यमंत्री मनोनीत किया है। इसके पहले चंपई सोरेन ने शिवू सोरेन से मुलाकात की और अपने गुरुजी की आशीर्वाद लिए। वह भी बताया कि झारखंड के सत्ताधारी गठबंधन के नेताओं ने राज्यपाल और केंद्रीय नेताओं के लिए अमर्यादित भाषा का प्रयोग किया है। भाजपा ने इस पर सवाल उठाए हैं।
