A crocodile has been spotted in the Sarayu river in the Maanji area of Chapra. This is the first time a crocodile has been seen in the river, causing some concern among people who come for daily baths. While no incidents have occurred so far, people are avoiding swimming in the river due to the unusual behavior of the crocodile.

Increased Crocodile Population in Ganga-Gandak Rivers

The Forest Department has confirmed the presence of crocodiles in the Sarayu river, with significantly more crocodiles in the Ganga and Gandak rivers. While crocodile sightings are common in these rivers, caution is still advised for those living near the Sarayu river. Crocodiles do not harm humans or animals unless provoked, but it is essential to stay alert and keep a safe distance from them.
