Children in Navagachiya Fall Ill After Taking Medication for Filariasis and Worms
On Monday, the health of two dozen children in Navagachiya deteriorated after taking medication for filariasis and worms. The medicine for preventing these diseases is being distributed in government schools in Bihar through Asha didi. However, the continuous administration of the medicine has been causing adverse effects on the children’s health. After taking the medicine for worms, the children complain of nausea, headache, and dizziness. A similar situation has been observed in schools in Bhagalpur as well.
More Children Fall Ill in a School in Navagachiya Nagarh Panchayat
After schools in Narayanpur block of Navagachiya, now more than two dozen children in a school under Navagachiya Nagarh Panchayat have fallen ill. The deteriorating health of the children caused panic among the parents. With the help of locals and ambulances, the children were admitted to the Navagachiya Sub-Divisional Hospital. The children were given medication for worms and filariasis in Pravi Paswan Tola of Nagarh Panchayat. After taking the medicine, the children complained of dizziness and nausea.
Over 30 School Children Fall Ill after Taking Filariasis Medication in Purnia
In Purnia, more than three dozen school children fell ill after taking medication for filariasis. The MLA demanded an investigation into the matter. Jitendra Kumar Singh, a resident of Graminigramin, said that after the children were given the medicine following their meal, many of them started experiencing health issues. Some complained of nausea, while others had headaches. The children were admitted to the hospital with the help of ambulances.
Statement from the Hospital Authorities
Dr. B. Das, the Deputy Director of the Hospital, Navagachiya, stated that as soon as they learned about the deteriorating health of the children, they sent a rapid action team to the school. The children were then transported to the hospital in an ambulance. Currently, all the children are in stable condition and there is no need to panic.
नवगछिया में फाइलेरिया और कृमि की दवाएं खाने के बाद बच्चों की तबीयत बिगड़ रही है। सरकारी स्कूलों में दवा देने के बाद बच्चों में उल्टी, सिर दर्द और सिर चकराने की शिकायत हो रही है। इससे नगरह पंचायत के एक स्कूल में दो दर्जन से अधिक बच्चों की तबीयत बिगड़ी है और उन्हें नवगछिया के अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है। इसके अलावा पूर्णिया में भी फाइलेरिया की दवा खाने के बाद तीन दर्जन से अधिक बच्चे बीमार हो गए हैं। ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में भी इससे संबंधित घटनाएं रिपोर्ट हुई हैं और विधायक ने जांच की मांग की है। अस्पताल के अधिकारियों ने बताया है कि बच्चों की स्थिति ठीक है और कोई घबराने वाली बात नहीं है।
