Change in Weather Patterns

On Sunday evening, clouds covered the state of Bihar due to the active disturbance in the western region and the Jet Stream. There is a possibility of light rain in some parts of southern Bihar between Sunday and Monday. There is also a chance of thunder and lightning in some areas. IMD has issued a yellow alert regarding this. According to IMD, there are chances of rain in southern, western, south-central, and southeast Bihar. Specifically, areas like Patna, Gaya, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Nawada, Begusarai, Jehanabad, Lakhisarai, Buxar, Bhojpur, Bhabua, Rohtas, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Khagaria, etc. may experience light rain. The possibility of rain and thunder is lower in northern Bihar, although clouds will still be present.

Temperature Variations

On Sunday, the highest temperature recorded in the state was 27 degrees Celsius in Patna, which is more than three degrees higher than normal. The lowest temperature was recorded in Gaya at 7.6 degrees Celsius. According to IMD’s official information, Bihar’s weather will return to normal from the 6th of this month. On Sunday evening, clouds covered the capital city after a sunny day, and around 5 PM, it started raining lightly for a few hours. The Meteorological Centre in Patna reported a decrease of 2.1°C in maximum temperature and 1.9°C in minimum temperature in the last 24 hours. After the decrease, the maximum temperature was recorded at 27°C and the minimum at 10.3°C. There is a possibility of further decrease in temperature during the next 24 hours.

Air Quality Improvement

With the change in weather, the air quality in Patna has improved, with the AQI reaching 160. However, the air quality at two locations in the city is still poor. The AQI in Muradpur is 215, and in Samanpura, it is 253. In other parts of the city, Danapur has an AQI of 145, Shikarpur has an AQI of 149, and Taramandal has the best AQI of 33. According to officials from the Pollution Control Board, there has been an improvement in air pollution due to the light rain in the region.

पटना में पश्चिमी विक्षोभ और जेट स्ट्रीम की सक्रियता के कारण रविवार से बादल छाए रहे हैं। दक्षिण बिहार में हल्की बारिश के आसार हैं और कुछ जगहों पर मेघ गर्जन और ठनके की भी आशंका है। आइएमडी ने येलो अलर्ट जारी किया है और दक्षिण, पश्चिम, दक्षिण-मध्य और दक्षिण-पूर्व बिहार में बारिश के आसार बताए हैं। पटना, गया, नालंदा, शेखपुरा, नवादा, बेगूसराय, जहानाबाद, लखीसराय, बक्सर, भोजपुर, भभुआ, रोहतास, भागलपुर, बांका, जमुई, खगड़िया आदि इलाकों में हल्की बारिश के आसार हैं। उत्तरी बिहार में बारिश और ठनका की संभावना कम है, लेकिन वहां भी बादल छाए रहेंगे। रविवार को पटना में उच्चतम तापमान 27 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज किया गया, जो सामान्य से अधिक था। आगामी दिनों में मौसम साफ हो सकता है और बादल छाए रहने और हल्की बारिश की संभावना है। प्रदूषण में सुधार आया है और वायु गुणवत्ता में सुधार देखा गया है।
