Seat Allocation Disputes
Prior to the crucial meeting between RJD and Congress, Congress has expressed dissatisfaction with the ticket allocation in several constituencies. Congress is adamant about fielding Pappu Yadav from the Purnia Lok Sabha seat and has also requested a change in the RJD candidate from Aurangabad. The outcome of today’s discussion is expected to resolve the seat distribution concerns.
Stalled Negotiations
RJD had previously offered Congress 6 Lok Sabha seats, but negotiations came to a halt when Congress insisted on key constituencies like Begusarai and Karakat. While RJD is unwilling to concede these seats, they have agreed to consider giving the Katihar seat to Congress. The demand for specific constituencies by both parties has led to a deadlock in the seat-sharing process for the upcoming elections.
