Successful Cucumber Cultivation in Purnia

Everyone loves cucumber in their salad, especially during the hot summer season as it is very beneficial for health. Farmers in Purnia, like Ramesh Singh, have been cultivating hybrid varieties of cucumber for many years, earning good profits. Singh cultivates cucumber at a cost of only 10 rupees per kattha of land, and the fruit is ready for harvest in just 30 days, selling for up to 12 rupees in the market.

Ramesh Singh’s Cucumber Farming Experience

Ramesh Singh, a farmer in Purnia, has been cultivating cucumber for the past 5 years on 10 katthas of land. He grows hybrid cucumber varieties in his fields, which have resulted in high yields. The market price for hybrid cucumbers is around 12 rupees per kilo, while local cucumbers sell for 15 to 16 rupees per kilo. Singh emphasizes that there is only a slight taste difference between local and hybrid cucumbers.

Profitable Cucumber Harvesting and Sales

Singh harvests around 3 quintals of cucumbers every two days, selling them in the local market. He finds cucumber cultivation to be very profitable, with low costs and high returns. With a cultivation time of 30 days, cucumbers continue to yield good profits for the next two and a half months. Singh encourages other farmers to start cucumber cultivation early to ensure higher prices and profits in the market.



पूर्णिया के किसान रमेश सिंह ने हाइब्रिड वैरायटी खीरे की खेती करके अच्छा मुनाफा कमाया है। उन्होंने बताया कि खीरे की खेती से उन्हें बहुत फायदा होता है और इसमें कम लागत में ज्यादा मुनाफा होता है। उन्होंने कहा कि खीरे की खेती से उन्हें हर दो दिन 3 क्विंटल खीरे मिलते हैं और इससे उन्हें 3 लाख तक की आमदनी हो सकती है। उन्होंने अन्य किसानों को भी इस खेती करने की सलाह दी है।
