Cyber Criminals Targeting People Nationwide
Cyber criminals are making it difficult for people across the country by constantly trying to scare and threaten them through phone calls, links, or emails, and then scamming them for money under the guise of providing assistance. They are also attempting to deceive friends and acquaintances of DIGs, SPs, police officers, and officials by creating fake Facebook, Instagram, and social media accounts in their names and trying to scam them.
Fake Social Media Accounts of District Police Chief
A case has come to light where cyber criminals created a fake Facebook account in the name of Samastipur District Police Chief Vinay Tiwari and attempted to scam people who knew him by sending friend requests and demanding money. Similarly, a fake Facebook account was created in the name of Darbhanga DIG Babu Ram, using his picture on the account.
Action Taken by Authorities
Upon becoming aware of the situation, Darbhanga DIG Babu Ram informed people through his real Facebook account about the fake accounts being used for financial fraud. He warned users not to fulfill any demands made under his name and to report any suspicious activities. The case of cyber criminals attempting to scam people in the name of Samastipur District Police Chief Vinay Tiwari is also under investigation, with further action to be taken after the inquiry.
साइबर अपराधियों के द्वारा समस्तीपुर जिला पुलिस अधीक्षक विनय तिवारी के नाम से फर्जी फेसबुक अकाउंट बनाकर उनके मित्र जनों से ठगी करने की कोशिश का मामला सामने आया है। इस तरह कई अधिकारियों का भी फर्जी अकाउंट बनाकर ठगाने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है। इस मामले की जांच पड़ताल शुरू की गई है और आगे कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
