Woman from Munna Chak area of Kankarbagh Thana in Patna cheated of Rs 1.50 lakh by cyber fraudsters

A woman residing in the Munna Chak area of Kankarbagh Thana in Patna fell victim to cyber fraudsters who duped her of Rs 1.50 lakh. The fraudsters called the woman and asked her to link her email ID to her bank account. Subsequently, they took the OTP from the woman and siphoned off the money from her account. The incident has been reported to the cyber police station for further investigation.

Modus Operandi of the Cyber Fraudsters

The cyber fraudsters targeted the woman by posing as bank officials and tricked her into sharing sensitive information. They asked her to link her email ID to her bank account for security purposes. After gaining access to her OTP, they swiftly transferred Rs 1.50 lakh from her account without her knowledge. The woman realized the fraud only after the money had been siphoned off.
