Issues with X-Ray Machines at DMCH Darbhanga

The DMCH in Darbhanga, Bihar, is one of the largest hospitals in North Bihar. Despite serving patients from over half a dozen districts, the hospital is facing problems with its X-ray machine. The machine is covered in dust and not in use, leading to patients having to go outside for X-rays and incurring extra expenses. Additionally, several manual machines in the hospital are also not functioning properly and require servicing.

Digital X-Ray Machines in Use

According to Dr. Harendra Kumar, the Deputy Superintendent of DMCH Darbhanga, the hospital is utilizing digital X-ray machines effectively. The emergency department is using digital X-rays, along with the manual machines. A digital X-ray machine is operational in the super-specialty building. Despite occasional breakdowns, the hospital ensures that all machines are promptly repaired to maintain the digital services for patients. The hospital management is also using manual X-ray machines to reduce the load on digital machines.

Backup Units for X-Ray Machines

Dr. Harendra Kumar mentioned that when an X-ray machine malfunctions, backup units are available at DMCH Darbhanga. Patients are provided with accurate information, and efforts are made to prevent misinformation that may lead rural patients to seek X-rays outside the hospital at higher costs. The hospital is taking steps to inform the public about the available facilities within the DMCH premises to avoid unnecessary expenses outside. Despite challenges, the hospital is striving to provide quality diagnostic services to all patients.
