Bihar Education Department in Turmoil
The top secretary of the education department in Bihar, KK Pathak, and his orders are causing constant headaches for the government. Despite Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announcing in the assembly that government schools will operate from 10 am to 4 pm, KK Pathak has not changed the school timings as per the statement.
Conflict Over School Timings
Once again, a controversy has erupted due to a letter from the top secretary of the education department, KK Pathak. Even after the CM’s order, Pathak has not altered his decision. He has instructed that from 9 to 10 am, attendance will be taken through video conferencing. The schools will run from 10 am to 4 pm, with strict penalties for teachers arriving late.
Resistance from Teachers
Following Pathak’s new orders, teacher associations have criticized the government for not enforcing the CM’s directive. The teachers have opened a protest against Pathak’s authoritarian behavior. If the CM remains silent, people will perceive KK Pathak as the de facto Chief Minister.
