**Election Commission Suspends ASP and SHO**
The Election Commission recently suspended an ASP and SHO after the tragic death of a security personnel posted outside a strong room in Bhojpur, Bihar. The personnel had committed suicide due to not being granted leave. **Suspension of ASP and SHO**
According to reports, the security constable Hemant Kumar, posted in the EVM strong room in Navada police station of Bhojpur district, committed suicide on March 30. The Election Commission received a complaint about this incident and subsequently ordered the suspension of the ASP and SHO of Navada police station in Bhojpur. The Election Commission found violations in the security protocols of the EVM strong room and SOPs.
**Immediate Action and Security Breach**
The Election Commission stated that immediate action will be taken against those responsible, with no room for leniency. The security breach of the EVM strong room and FLCC machines was noted, where proper security measures were not implemented as per the guidelines. The Election Commission emphasized the need for thorough security arrangements and deployment of state armed police for protection.
**Security Lapses and Tragic Incident**
In the VVPAT (EVM) warehouse located in the agriculture building of Navada police station area, three security guards were appointed in November 2023. One guard was on leave, while another had gone to buy vegetables on March 30. During this time, the third guard, Hemant Kumar, tragically committed suicide. The Election Commission highlighted the need for immediate replacement of guards in case of absence to prevent such incidents.
