Illegal Liquor Factory Busted in Patna
Despite the liquor ban law being in place in Bihar since 2016, illegal liquor traders continue to operate without fear. A recent incident in the capital city of Patna exposed a fake liquor factory in Beriya, within the Ramakrishna Nagar police station area. The fake liquor bottles were being prepared under the guise of well-known branded companies.
Raid on Tomato Sauce Factory Reveals Illegal Liquor Operation
Acting on a tip-off, the prohibition department team conducted a raid on a tomato sauce factory where they uncovered an illegal English liquor manufacturing operation. Seven individuals were arrested during the raid, and the production department’s Assistant Commissioner received confidential information about the illicit activities taking place at the factory.
Seizure of Counterfeit Liquor and Arrests Made
During the raid, the inspectors found over 20,000 empty bottles of various brands, 200 liters of spirit in a drum, and the wrappers and caps of branded liquor companies. Among the seven arrested individuals involved in the illegal liquor manufacturing operation were residents of different areas in Patna. The crackdown on the fake liquor factory highlights the ongoing issue of bootlegging in Bihar, despite the strict prohibition laws in place.
