The growing trend of fast food has provided a great means of employment to financially weak youth. Instead of working for a job of 10-15 thousand rupees, young people are now easily earning 50-60 rupees a month by running their own small stalls. Kailash, a resident of the eastern bypass area of Madhepura city, has a similar story. He used to work in a grocery store in Delhi earlier. A year ago, he quit his job and started selling water pani puri. Now, he earns a profit of 2-3 thousand rupees every day, working from 4 pm to 9 pm.

Kailash mentioned that his family’s financial situation was not good. After completing his 10th grade education, he went to Delhi in search of a job. He worked at a grocery store in Jagatpuri for 2 years. However, the income from the job was not enough to support the family properly. After that, Kailash quit his job, returned home, and started his water puri stall. Today, Kailash’s daily income is 2 to 3 thousand rupees, which is helping the family run smoothly. Kailash mentioned that he plans to open a fast food restaurant in the future.

Kailash sells water puri in four flavors at his stall in Madhepura, located on the eastern bypass road in front of the Honda showroom every day from 4 pm. The flavors include tangy-sweet pani puri, yogurt pani puri, chola pani puri, and crispy pani puri. Kailash mentions that tangy-sweet pani puri is served at 10 rupees for 5 pieces, and yogurt pani puri is served at 30 rupees for 7 pieces.
धीरज कुमार/मधेपुरा ने फास्ट फूड के चलन को देखते हुए आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर युवाओं के लिए रोजगार का बढ़िया साधन उपलब्ध कराया है। इसी चलन को देखते हुए कैलाश ने अपने पानी पूरी का स्टॉल लगाकर हर महीने अच्छी कमाई करने की कहानी साझा की है। उनकी कड़ी मेहनत और उत्साह ने उन्हें अच्छे दिनों की और आगे बढ़ने की मंजिल की दिशा में आगे बढ़ने के लिए प्रेरित किया है।
