Bihar Road Accident: One Dead, Two Injured in a Collision with a Hilux
In a tragic incident in Fulwari Sharif, Patna, three young men riding a bike collided with a Hilux carrying construction materials on an under-construction railway track. One of the riders was killed on the spot, while the other two sustained critical injuries. The driver of the Hilux fled the scene after the accident, causing a crowd to gather at the accident site. The injured victims have been rushed to Patna AIIMS, where their condition is said to be critical. The incident has sparked anger among local residents, who pelted stones at the Hilux and vandalized it, demanding compensation.
Identity of the Deceased and Injured
The deceased has been identified as Vikas Choudhary, a 22-year-old resident of Hinduuni. He used to rent out his four-wheeler for a living, while his father worked as a mechanic. The injured victims are Munna Paswan, son of Gonpura resident Bijendra Paswan, and Rahul Paswan, son of Domman Paswan. Both are currently receiving medical treatment.
Witness Account of the Accident
Mukesh Choudhary, the brother of the deceased Vikas Choudhary, revealed that his brother was traveling with his two friends when the accident occurred. The Hilux, which was transporting construction materials for the railway line near Gonpura Musahari, was speeding and collided with their bike. The bike got stuck under the Hilux, causing Vikas Choudhary to fall and get run over by the vehicle’s wheels, resulting in his death. Both of his friends suffered severe injuries in the accident.
Protests and Police Intervention
The ongoing construction work on the railway line and the noise from the road built for material transportation have been a source of distress for local residents. This incident has further fueled their anger, leading to protests and a demand for compensation. The local police, along with additional forces, reached the scene to control the situation and engage with the protesters. The bodies and injured victims have been sent to Patna AIIMS for further investigation and treatment, respectively.
