Fire Incident at Patna Junction Golambar

Two hotels near Patna Junction Golambar in the busiest area of the capital Patna caught fire, resulting in the deaths of 7 people. Following this shocking incident, a team consisting of fire department, district administration, and Patna police inspected 239 hotel-restaurants in various areas of the city to identify fire safety violations.

Inspection of Scrap Godowns and Awareness Meetings

The authorities also announced plans to inspect scrap godowns and crack down on those creating such facilities in densely populated areas. Awareness meetings with hotel owners are being planned to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations. Additionally, a fire safety audit will be conducted in alleyways where scrap godowns are located.

Lack of Fire Safety Measures in Hotels

Reports indicate that many hotels in Patna lack proper fire safety equipment, with some not even having fire safety devices. Majority of the audited hotels were found to be non-compliant with fire safety regulations, prompting the need for sealing such establishments. Investigations are underway against hotels that do not possess necessary documentation related to fire safety measures.
