Gaurav Singh/Bhojpur: For the first time in Bihar, elephants affected by filariasis will also be considered as disabled. The disabled certificate for filariasis patients in Bhojpur district is expected to provide them with additional benefits. The State Commissioner for Disabilities, Kaushal Kishore, has issued a letter to create disabled certificates for filariasis patients. Camps will be set up in the district to issue these certificates. So far, 1892 patients with filariasis symptoms have been identified in the district. ACMMO Dr. K.N. Sinha provided important information regarding the plan to issue disabled certificates for filariasis patients during a meeting.
Filariasis is the second leading cause of disability in the world, according to ACMO Dr. K.N. Sinha. Many patients in the district are struggling with this serious problem. By obtaining disabled certificates, such patients can avail benefits such as railway travel, reservations, tricycles, slippers, wheelchairs, and disability pensions.
As the disease progresses, physical disability increases in filariasis patients, rendering them completely unable to work. Filariasis is caused by the bite of female mosquitoes. To prevent filariasis, medication needs to be taken once a year.
Applications for disabled certificates will be made online on the swavlmbncord.gov.in portal. A photo and Aadhaar card are required for this. Patients with elephantiasis have been included in the seventh grade.

Swelling, indigestion, itching, fever, and the appearance of wounds began to occur. Wounds started to discharge fluid. When patients become unable to walk and hold a bed, they fall into the category of disability. Only those above the fourth category will be given disabled certificates.

गौरव सिंह/भोजपुर जिले में फाइलेरिया से प्रभावित हाथी पांव मरीजों को अब दिव्यांग की श्रेणी में शामिल किया जाएगा। भोजपुर जिले के फाइलेरिया मरीजों को दिव्यांगता का लाभ मिलेगा और उन्हें दिव्यांगता प्रमाणपत्र भी मिलेगा। जिले में फाइलेरिया से प्रभावित 1892 मरीजों को चिन्हित किया गया है और उनके लिए दिव्यांगता प्रमाणपत्र बनाने की योजना शुरू की गई है। इससे इन मरीजों को रेलवे यात्रा, आरक्षण, द्वियांगता पेंशन आदि कई लाभ प्राप्त होंगे। फाइलेरिया मरीजों के लिए दवा का सेवन करना आवश्यक होता है और उन्हें स्वावलंबन कार्ड के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन करना होगा। इस नई योजना से फाइलेरिया मरीजों को बड़ी सहायता मिलेगी और उनकी जीवन-शैली में सुधार होगा।
