Champai Soren Government’s Minister Satyanand Bhokta’s Statement
In the Champai Soren government, RJD quota minister Satyanand Bhokta has said that there will be no friendly match on the Chatra seat this time. He mentioned that the circumstances of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections were different, but things have changed now. When asked about having their own candidate from the Chatra seat, he stated that the decision taken by the top leadership will be final.
Congress-RJD Disagreement over Lok Sabha Elections
During the 2019 parliamentary elections, both the Congress and RJD fielded candidates on the Chatra seat while being a part of the Mahagathbandhan. This benefited the BJP. BJP won the Chatra seat with a margin of nearly 3.77 lakh votes. Prior to this, RJD claimed the Chatra and Palamu seats, and on Monday, the party headquarters jointly addressed the media.
RJD’s Claim on Palamu and Congress’ Claim on Chatra Seat
Minister Satyanand Bhokta stated that RJD has the right to the Palamu and Chatra seats, and they have no problem in demanding their rights. RJD leaders have urged the national president Lalu Prasad Yadav, CM Champai Soren, former CM Hemant Soren, former national president of Congress Sonia Gandhi, and leader Rahul Gandhi to give both seats to RJD. RJD will strengthen the Mahagathbandhan by winning both seats.
Congress-RJD Dispute Over Lok Sabha Elections
The situation regarding the Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand is not smooth between the India Gathbandhan. CPI announced candidates on four seats on Sunday and took a different path. A similar situation is being observed for the Palamu and Chatra seats between RJD and Congress. In the press conference, it was indicated that RJD might announce its candidate today, but the scenario revealed otherwise.
