The vendor, Ramchandra Sah, shared with Local 18 that he is 65 years old and has been running his stall in Maharana Pratap Golambar on SP Verma Road for about 39 years. He mentioned that he prepares special fruit chaat by combining more than 10 fresh fruits such as watermelon, muskmelon, pomegranate, papaya, pineapple, apple, dates, and bananas. The fruit chaat is served by arranging all the fruits on a plate, sprinkling chaat masala and salt on top, and offering it to customers. A plate of fruit chaat costs Rs. 35 and contains an average of 400 grams of fruits.

Ramchandra Sah’s younger brother, Chunnu Sah, shared that initially, they used to sell papaya on their cart when they first arrived in Patna from Muzaffarpur. They later started selling papaya shakes. After returning from a trip to Delhi, they came up with the idea of selling fruit salad/chaat, and since then, they have been serving people with delicious fruit chaat. According to them, even though fruit chaat is sold throughout the year, its demand is particularly high during the summers as it helps in keeping the stomach cool. Their stall attracts a diverse range of customers, including police officers and even caters to events like weddings.
