SP Swarn Prabhat stated that the police are taking action at all levels to enforce the liquor ban law. Alcohol seizures are being made, and those involved in smuggling are being arrested and sent to jail. It has recently come to light that alcohol is being sold in large quantities even from licensed shops in UP.
Traffickers are bringing alcohol from distilleries to Gopalganj and engaging in smuggling. The owners of licensed distilleries are supposed to provide alcohol to drinkers, but this is not happening. Heavy amounts of alcohol are also being given to traffickers. In such a situation, the police have started preparations to take action against the owners of these liquor distilleries. The identification of the owners of the liquor distilleries has begun.
The police will investigate the confiscated alcohol from the traffickers to determine which distillery owner it was allocated to. In addition, they will interrogate the arrested traffickers and take action against the owners of distilleries in UP based on their statements, sending them to jail. This action by Gopalganj Police to prevent smuggling after the implementation of the liquor ban law will be considered significant.
