Under the ‘Free Cycle Scheme’, NREGA workers will receive an amount ranging from ₹3000 to ₹4000 in their bank accounts to purchase a bicycle for commuting to work. The laborers can buy a bicycle and get it verified with their photo to utilize the benefits provided by the government. Free Cycle Yojana Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Free Cycle Scheme, NREGA workers must have completed 100 days of work in NREGA and held a job card in the past 6 months. Additionally, families with a job card and no government official will also benefit from the scheme. The Labor Department and Employment Ministry are providing benefits to laborers based on their wages. The application process for the scheme will soon be available online and offline at the Panchayat level.
