State Government Launches Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana

The state government has initiated the Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana, similar to the central government’s Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Under this scheme, families with Ayushman cards will be provided with a health insurance of up to five lakh rupees by the state government. The data from the public distribution system will be utilized for this purpose, and preparations for the scheme have begun in Supaul district as well.

Process for Obtaining Health Insurance Card

The District Magistrate mentioned that the process of creating insurance cards will continue at all public distribution system shops, including CSCs. To apply, individuals will need to bring their Aadhar and ration cards. Those not included in the Ayushman card beneficiary list but have a ration card can apply for the Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana.

Target of 50,000 Cards on the First Day

The goal on the first day is to create 50,000 cards. There are approximately 4.67 lakh ration cardholder families in Supaul district, with nearly 20 lakh individuals. The selection of beneficiaries for the PM Jan Arogya Yojana is based on the 2011 census list, leaving out many needy families. The state government aims to provide health security insurance of up to five lakh rupees to these excluded families.
