Hemant Soren’s Legal Battle:

The High Court has completed the hearing on the petition filed by former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and JMM leader Hemant Soren against the enforcement directorate’s actions and his arrest. The court has reserved its decision on this matter.

Court Cases and Jail Time:

Prior to this, Hemant Soren had filed a petition in the High Court regarding permission to attend the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly’s budget session. The High Court had also reserved its decision on this matter. Hemant Soren is currently in custody at the Birsa Munda Central Jail.

Judicial Custody:

After the end of a 13-day custody with the Enforcement Directorate, Hemant Soren was sent to Birsa Munda Central Jail on February 15th. The court had earlier granted permission for him to participate in the confidence vote in the Assembly on February 5th.

Legal Troubles:

Former Chief Minister Hemant Soren was sent to judicial custody on Thursday in connection with a money laundering case related to the alleged land scam. He was previously in the custody of the ED. His lawyer mentioned that he was presented in a special PMMLA court and was remanded to judicial custody until February 22nd.
