Offering Prayers to God at Home

Every day, people perform puja and offer bhog to please God at their homes. Some households offer the food prepared at home as bhog to the deity and then consume it as prasad themselves. However, it is important to note that not all offerings may be preferred by all deities.

Things to Avoid While Offering Bhog

Astrologer Pandit Shatrughna Acharya advises that certain items should not be included in the bhog offerings to God without proper knowledge. For example, while Lord Vishnu likes tulsi leaves in his prasad, it should not be included in the prasad offered to Lord Shiva or Lord Ganesha. Ignoring these details may lead to displeasing the deities and causing harm.

Post-Bhog Rituals

After offering bhog to God, it is recommended to feed a portion of it to a cow before consuming it as prasad and distributing it among others. This act is believed to bring special blessings from the deity. Following these rituals with care can help in receiving the desired benefits from the prayers offered.
