Increased Illegal Alcohol Trade Ahead of Holi
As Holi approaches, bootleggers are finding new ways to promote illegal alcohol trade, despite efforts by the production department team to curb it. In a recent case in the Meenapur and Chhitbhagwatipur police station areas of Muzaffarpur, alcohol worth 20 lakhs was seized, but the team’s efforts were unsuccessful.
Hidden Alcohol in Noodles and Chips
Inspectors from the production department revealed that alcohol was being hidden in noodles and chips by the liquor mafia in an attempt to evade authorities. With the help of a dog and a drone, the team managed to seize 150 bottles of English cotton liquor, valued at 20 lakhs, in the Chhitbhagwatipur area. The mafia’s creative tactics were thwarted, thanks to a tip-off received by the team.
Police Crackdown on Illegal Alcohol Trade
Police, along with the production department, conducted raids in response to information about alcohol being smuggled in noodles and chips. Two successful operations led to the seizure of a significant amount of alcohol, preventing it from being distributed during Holi. Authorities remain vigilant against the activities of the liquor mafia as the festival approaches.
