Increasing Demand for Earthen Pots in Markets

In recent days, there has been a rapid increase in the demand for earthen pots in the market. People are starting to use earthen pots for drinking water in temples, public places, or even at home as the heat of summer intensifies. This trend is beneficial for health as drinking water from earthen pots is considered to be advantageous without any negative effects on the body.

Benefits of Drinking Water from Earthen Pots

Dr. Anish Prakash from Begusarai explains that states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Jharkhand experience high temperatures during summer, with the environment reaching up to 44 degrees Celsius. When the temperature exceeds the body temperature of 37.5 degrees, people prefer to drink cold water. Drinking water from earthen pots helps prevent dehydration and maintains metabolic activity, reducing the risk of gastrointestinal issues.

Affordable Pricing and Artistry of Earthen Pots

Earthen pots are priced between 100 to 200 rupees, with intricate artistry and craftsmanship involved in their making process. Artisans invest time in bringing clay, shaping, drying, baking, coloring, and selling the pots in markets. Customers in Begusarai city can purchase a 10-liter earthen pot for 100 rupees, which helps keep water cool, or opt for a 15-liter modernly crafted pot for 200 rupees. Despite the increasing daily sales, the prices remain reasonable for most customers in the district.
