Human Rights Commission Takes Up Case of Indian Diplomat’s Brother in Belarus

The case of Ravi Kumar Jha, the brother of Indian diplomat Alok Ranjan Jha in Belarus, has reached the National Human Rights Commission. It is suspected that the case may be related to human trafficking, and it is possible that he has fallen victim to this crime. A petition has been filed in the National Human Rights Commission, and action has been initiated.

Details of the Case

Ravi Kumar Jha, a resident of Kalaan village in the East Champaran district of Bihar, was called for a job by a company in Chennai where he received training. However, after the training, he was given a sales job which he did not take up. He then stayed at a hotel in Chennai and his family members were contacted for money by the hotel staff, but no information was provided. The local police then chased away the family members.

Legal Action Taken

After the incident, the family contacted human rights lawyer S.K. Jha, who filed separate petitions in the National Human Rights Commission in New Delhi and the Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission in Chennai. The full details of the case have been provided to the President’s Secretariat. The lawyer stated that the case appears to be one of human trafficking and efforts are being made to ensure Ravi’s safe return.
