Jharkhand Assembly Budget Session: Finance Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon has stated that the government will eliminate the burden of interest on loans from the state by the next financial year. On the second day of the budget session on Monday, a discussion was held in the Jharkhand Assembly on the third supplementary budget of Rs 4981 crore for the financial year 2023-24, amidst heavy opposition uproar, it was passed by the house.
Opposition brought proposals for cuts on the supplementary budget, to which the Finance Minister responded by stating that previous governments used to take interest amounts ranging from 11 to 12 percent. Our government has worked on repaying debts. The Finance Minister assured that by the next financial year, the government will completely eliminate the burden of interest so that its impact on the people of the state is minimized. He mentioned that the opposition should have accurate information on how much of the budget amount has been spent. The opposition claims that only 54 percent of the budget amount for the financial year 2023-24 has been spent so far, which are old figures.
The Finance Minister mentioned that the opposition is questioning the financial management of the government. In the previous government, the budget was up to Rs 84,000-85,000 crore, but as soon as our government came, this amount increased to Rs 1,16,000 crore. He highlighted that better financial management cannot be achieved beyond this. He also mentioned that Jharkhand government has deposited Rs 1600 crore in the sinking fund of the Reserve Bank of India. Additionally, the state government has been successful in reducing the fiscal deficit.

झारखंड विधानसभा बजट सत्र में वित्त मंत्री ने बताया कि सरकार अगले वर्ष तक राज्य से कर्ज पर सूद का बोझ खत्म कर देगी। विपक्ष के हंगामे के बीच अनुपूरक बजट पर चर्चा हुई और वित्त मंत्री ने बताया कि सरकार ने कर्ज लौटाने का काम किया है। उन्होंने यह भी दावा किया कि सरकार अगले वर्ष तक सूद का बोझ खत्म कर देगी। विपक्ष ने इस पर सवाल उठाया और रिजर्व बैंक ऑफ इंडिया में सरकार के सिंकिंग फंड में जमा धन की जानकारी भी मांगी। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार ने राजकोषीय घाटा कम करने में सफलता पाई है।
