Charges Against Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Leaders
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) party is facing difficulties in the land scam case. The party’s top leader and former Chief Minister Hemant Soren was the first to be arrested in this case and has been in jail for about 75 days. On Wednesday morning, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested four people, including JMM leader Antu Tirkey, in connection with the land scam. The Central investigation agency has also arrested Priyaranjan Sahay, real estate businessman Vipin Singh, and Irshad in the case.
Next Day Arrests After Raids
On Tuesday, the ED conducted raids at several locations, including JMM leader Antu Tirkey’s house, in connection with the alleged land scam case. The ED team reached Antu Tirkey’s house at 7 am and later took him to the ED office. After conducting raids at multiple places, the ED seized several digital devices, land documents, and bank accounts. On Wednesday morning, the ED took action by arresting Antu Tirkey, Priyaranjan Sahay, Vipin Singh, and Irshad. This action was taken by the ED based on inputs received from Saddam.
Action Against Four Individuals
In this case, Hemant Soren was arrested by the ED on January 31st, followed by the arrest of Bhanu Pratap. A few days ago, the Central investigation agency arrested Mohammad Saddam. Saddam is already in jail in another case and was accused by the ED of creating fake documents for Hemant Soren. After receiving inputs from Saddam, the ED conducted raids at multiple locations in Ranchi on Tuesday. During this operation, RIMS employee Officer Ali was arrested. Following the raids, the ED has now taken action by arresting four individuals involved in the land scam case, including a JMM leader.
Increased Troubles for JMM
After this action, JMM is facing increased troubles in the land scam case. So far, the ED has arrested a total of 8 people in connection with the case. With the arrest of four individuals in one go, including a JMM leader, the difficulties for the party seem to be escalating. The ED’s actions have put the spotlight on the JMM in this case, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
