Former Bihar Chief Minister and leader of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), Jitan Ram Manjhi, has issued a whip to ensure the presence of all party MLAs during the confidence vote of the newly formed government of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Monday. He stated that the four MLAs of his party will vote for the NDA alliance and emphasized that they may be poor, but they are not dishonest. He also mentioned that he will stay where he is.

Similarly, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party, Janata Dal United (JDU), has also issued a whip to all its MLAs to be present in the assembly during the power test. JDU’s chief secretary Shravan Kumar stated that those who violate the whip will lose their membership. He also mentioned that this is a regular procedure that they follow before every assembly session.

Shravan Kumar further explained that the whip directs the MLAs to remain present in the assembly and vote in favor of the government when the opportunity arises. He added that not following the whip can result in losing their membership. Kumar organized a lunch for party MLAs at his residence, where he took signatures from the attendees. However, some MLAs were absent due to health issues, as informed by Kumar. He dismissed speculations that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was upset with the low attendance of MLAs and left his residence in anger.
