Police Action in Latehar
Latehar police have been cracking down on drug traffickers continuously. Once again, the police seized illegal substances worth Rs 44.22 lakh from the Balumath police station area. Two traffickers, Indradev Ganju and Jyotish Ganju, were arrested in connection with this case. The police recovered 46.5 kg of Doda, 32 kg of Ganja, and 4.2 kg of Opium from their homes.
Preparation to Sell in UP Market
The police received a tip-off about illegal drug storage in Semarsot village in the Balumath police station area. A raid was conducted, and a large quantity of drugs was seized from the homes of Indradev Ganju and Jyotish Ganju. It was revealed that they were preparing to sell the seized drugs in the Uttar Pradesh market. The police have been taking action against drug cultivation near the Chhatra and Latehar border.
Major Police Operation
Within nine days of implementing the Model Code of Conduct, Latehar police conducted a significant operation against drug trafficking. They seized drugs worth Rs 3.6 crore, including 17.12 kg of Opium, 42.405 kg of Ganja, and 16.9 kg of Doda. Additionally, the police recovered four country-made pistols and 11 live cartridges. A sum of Rs 2.995 lakh in cash was also seized from a car near Checkneka in Manika police station area.
Participants in the Raid
The raid was led by Balumath police officer Ashutosh Kumar Satyam, along with Balumath police station in-charge Vikrant Kumar Upadhyay, and other police officials and constables. The seized money has been handed over to the income tax department for further investigation.
