Loksabha Election Update

In the Jamshedpur East constituency, MLA Sarayu Rai stated that there are 50 cases filed against BJP candidate Dulu Mahato. Four of these cases have resulted in a total of four and a half years of sentencing by different judges.

Legal Troubles

In 2005, the Supreme Court’s five-judge bench had decided to cancel the membership of tainted representatives and prevent them from contesting elections for six years. BJP state president Babulal Marandi’s statement in support of Dulu Mahato and against Sarayu Rai not becoming a judge is seen as comical in light of the judges’ decision.

Corruption Allegations

Sarayu Rai accused Dulu of having deep connections with Prince Khan, who is in jail. He also called for further investigation by the Election Commission into the coal purchasing practices in the area overlapping with the Baghmara assembly constituency.

Election Plans

When asked about running in the Lok Sabha election from Dhanbad, Sarayu Rai mentioned that his supporters and workers want him to run, but the final decision is up to them. He also mentioned discussions with Congress’s Alamgir Alam and Rajesh Thakur for a possible coalition candidate who can secure a win in Dhanbad.
