In Bihar’s Nalanda district, a man died after falling into an open drain on Saturday night. The incident took place behind Shringar Ghat Mohalla in the Bihar Sharif police station area. The deceased has been identified as Manoj Sharma (55), son of the late Sukhdev Mistri, a resident of Shringarhat Mohalla under the Sohsarai police station area.
Relatives of the deceased revealed that Manoj Sharma used to run a furniture shop near Bihar Sharif’s health club. Like every day, he was returning home after closing the shop in the evening when he fell into the open drain and died. The incident came to light when some people passing by noticed him in the drain. Local residents helped him get out and then he was admitted to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital. Doctors declared him dead there.
Relatives are expressing concern that Manoj Sharma remained in the drain for nearly two hours, which caused his death. This incident occurred due to the open drain. It is said that the deceased had three sons and three daughters. After this incident, panic has spread among the relatives.
Meanwhile, in this case, Ramshankar Singh, the station house officer, stated that the body has been handed over to the relatives after conducting a post-mortem. No application has been received from the deceased’s family yet. The police are investigating the case.
