Meeting of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee
The meeting of the executive committee of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce was held at Chamber Bhavan under the chairmanship of President Kishor Mantri. It was mentioned that when the minimum wage rate in MGNREGA is Rs 280, why are we being pressured to pay Rs 450? President Kishor Mantri expressed displeasure and stated that in October itself, the department was suggested to increase the previous rate by a maximum of 5 percent, but it is surprising that the new rate has been implemented without any discussion, which is unacceptable.
Discussion on Labour Department’s Decision
During the committee meeting, members discussed the decision of the Labour Department. They criticized the department for implementing the new rate without proper consultation. The members felt that their suggestions and objections were not taken into consideration before implementing the new rate, which has caused dissatisfaction among the committee members.
