Weather Update: Heavy Rain Forecast
SASCOF has predicted above normal rainfall for most of South Asia, including countries like India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, and Sri Lanka. The monsoon season is expected to bring relief from the scorching heat, with maximum and minimum temperatures remaining above normal in most areas. The forecast aligns with La Nina conditions, with El Nina conditions likely to develop later in the season.
South Asian Climate Outlook Forum (SASCOF) Forecast
SSCOF has stated that neutral conditions of El Nino Southern Oscillation may form in the first half of the monsoon season, followed by El Nina conditions in the second half. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also predicted above normal rainfall for the monsoon season. The forecast indicates relief for many regions suffering from the heatwave.
