Violent Incident in Majhanpur Village
In Saran district, in the Majhanpur village of the Maanji Thana area, a priest was murdered during a theft at a temple. This incident angered the locals who blocked the roads and demanded the arrest of the culprits. After much effort, the police were able to calm the situation and sent the body to Chhapra Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Forensic lab and dog squad were also brought to the scene under the direction of the SP, but no clues were found in the case.
Details of the Crime
The incident occurred on Monday night when the priest was strangled to death and the thieves stole idols made of ashtadhatu from the temple. The SP confirmed that the idols were made of brass, not gold. The police are currently investigating the crime scene where the body of the priest was found in the temple premises.
Investigation and Response
The district administration has called in a dog squad team and the Forensic Science Lab (FSL) team to thoroughly investigate all aspects of the crime and apprehend the culprits. It is worth noting that a similar theft of idols occurred in Thakurbadi in 2010, leading to heightened tensions in the area.
