Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar, has become inaccessible to his own allies amidst political turmoil in Patna, Bihar. Ever since the news of his proximity to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) broke, Kumar has been seen in public events, but his close associates have been unable to contact him.
Lalu Yadav, Kumar’s former ally, had attempted to contact him as soon as the news of his alliance with the BJP came out. Sources state that Yadav, who was trying to save the government, had made multiple phone calls to Kumar in the past 24 hours, but Kumar did not answer any of them. Furthermore, Kumar did not even call Yadav back.
After Yadav’s failed attempt, Mallikarjun Kharge, the President of the Indian National Congress, took charge and called Kumar three times on Saturday. Similar to Yadav, Kumar did not respond to Kharge’s phone calls either.
It is speculated that Kumar might submit his resignation to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar during their meeting on Saturday evening. It is believed that the swearing-in ceremony for the new government will take place on Sunday. In preparation for this event, three important officials of the Nitish Kumar government visited the Raj Bhavan on Friday night. It is said that this visit was related to the preparations for the swearing-in ceremony.
