Good News for Students at Veer Kunwar Singh University
Students enrolled in the four-year undergraduate course at Veer Kunwar Singh University will now have the opportunity to engage in research and internships at the graduate level. The University has expedited efforts in this direction following the guidelines provided by the UGC, which also include preparing necessary infrastructure and appointing a nodal officer with interest in research and internships.
UGC Guidelines for Research and Internships Across 16 Key Areas
The UGC has identified 16 major sectors to connect undergraduate students with research and internships, ranging from AI, machine learning, IT, and business to human rights, communications, education, and sports. Veer Kunwar Singh University has been instructed to conduct surveys related to the designated sectors at the local level to understand their needs and provide them with the necessary support.
Research Degree with Honors for Graduates
With the duration of the undergraduate course now extended to four years, students will now receive a research degree with honors upon completion of their studies. Those interested in research and internships will also be awarded necessary credit points, with internships earning 2-4 credit points and research activities earning 12 credit points. This initiative is in line with the new National Education Policy to encourage research at the undergraduate level.
वीर कुंवर सिंह विश्वविद्यालय में चार वर्षीय स्नातक कोर्स शुरू किए जाने के बाद अब विद्यार्थियों को स्नातक स्तर पर ही शोध और इंटर्नशिप करने का मौका मिलेगा। यूजीसी ने गाइडलाइन जारी की है और विश्वविद्यालय ने इस दिशा में कवायद तेज कर दी है। छात्रों को सिर्फ उन्हीं क्षेत्रों में शोध करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जाएगा, जो देश के विकास के लिए जरूरी होंगे। यह नई राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति के अनुसार है। यूजीसी ने स्नातक स्तर पर छात्रों को शोध और इंटर्नशिप से जोड़ने के लिए 16 प्रमुख क्षेत्रों को चुना है।
