Pappu Yadav, who was earlier nominated as the candidate for the Mahagathbandhan from the Purnia Lok Sabha seat, will now file his nomination as an independent candidate. Despite not receiving a ticket from the Congress, Pappu Yadav is confident in carrying the Congress flag during the elections. This move has caused some internal conflict within the Mahagathbandhan.
Nomination Process and Campaigning
Pappu Yadav is scheduled to file his nomination around 11:15 am and will address his supporters at the Town Hall afterwards. Before the nomination, he will visit the Town Hall at 10 am to seek blessings from people who have come for the nomination. Post the nomination process, he will lead a rally through the main streets of the city with his supporters and will file his nomination around 11:45 am.
Impact on Purnia Elections
If Pappu Yadav files his nomination, the electoral battle in Purnia will become more interesting as it will turn into a triangular contest. His entry into the electoral arena may pose challenges for the BJP’s candidate from NDA, making the path easier for the JDU candidate Santosh Kushwaha. Despite Tejashwi Yadav taking a dig at Pappu Yadav, the latter remains determined to contest from Purnia.
