The PME (Periodical Medical Examination) for railway employees of the Sevān Division has started at the Sevān Railway Hospital. This means that railway employees below the E2 grade no longer have to travel to Chhapra or Varanasi for their medical examinations. This is a significant achievement for the ENI Railway Workers Union’s district branch, as they had been demanding the establishment of this facility in Sevān for a long time.
According to information received from the PME examination department of the Indian Railways, railway employees below the E2 grade are required to undergo periodical medical examinations until their retirement. These examinations are conducted at the ages of 45, 50, 55, and every subsequent year until retirement. Previously, conducting these examinations in the Sevān Division was challenging, and employees had to travel to Varanasi or Chhapra each year. This caused difficulties and inconvenience, as staff had to take leave and face transportation issues. However, now that this facility has been started in Sevān, the staff will benefit greatly.
With the introduction of the PME facility in Sevān, railway employees are delighted. The Minister of Happiness in the Siwan district, Vinod Ranjan, stated that the Chief Medical Director of the Varanasi division, Dr. Rupnarayan Choudhary, visited Sevān on January 19, 2023. During this visit, a delegation raised the issue of medical examinations with him. It was previously required for Sevān Division employees to travel to Chhapra and Varanasi for their PME examinations, but the Chief Medical Director assured them that this inconvenience would be resolved. As a result, this arrangement has now been implemented, bringing happiness to the railway workers.
सीवान सब डिवीजन में पीएमई जांच की सुविधा शुरू होने से नीचे के रेल कर्मचारियों को वाराणसी या छपरा जाने की जरूरत नहीं पड़ेगी। इसके साथ ही एनई रेलवे मजदूर यूनियन की जिला शाखा ने भी इस सुविधा की मांग शुरू होने पर खुशी जताई है। रेल कर्मचारियों को अब अपनी आवधिक चिकित्सा पुनः जांच सीवान में ही करवाने का फायदा होगा। प्रतिवर्ष वाराणसी और छपरा जाने वाली इस यात्रा से स्टाफ को छूटी लेनी पड़ती थी। पीएमई जांच की सुविधा की शुरुआत से इस समस्या का समाधान मिला है।
