Event: Police investigate after a woman is murdered in Nalanda. The victim was sleeping at her doorstep when the culprit suddenly arrived and strangled her to death. The incident took place in the Bhagwanpur village of the Ben police station area. The incident caused panic in the area, with a crowd gathering around. The police immediately arrived at the scene and started investigating, with the help of the dog squad.
Victim’s Identity: The victim has been identified as Phool Kumari (83), wife of Ramchandra Prasad, a resident of Bhagwanpur village. According to her son Arvind Kumar Singh, he was informed by neighbors on Saturday morning that his mother had been strangled to death in their house. He rushed to the village, where he noticed that his mother’s gold earrings and previously worn gold bangles were missing. The house was also filled with sand. His mother had been living alone in the village since returning from Biharsharif after Diwali.
Principal of Mahabodhi College: Arvind Prasad Singh, the son of the victim, is currently serving as the principal of Mahabodhi College in Silao block, Nalanda. He resides in Bihar Sharif. It is reported that when the neighbors left their homes in the morning for their respective work, they saw the lifeless body of the elderly woman covered in blood in front of her house. The local police and family members were immediately informed about the incident.
Sleeping at the Doorstep: Upon receiving the information about the incident, Rajgir DSP Pradeep Kumar, along with Dalbal, the officer-in-charge of Ben police station, reached the crime scene and started investigating the case. DSP Pradeep Kumar stated that it was evident from the initial investigation that the door of their house was never closed, and the victim used to sleep at the doorstep. The investigation is ongoing, with questioning of several individuals. The dog squad and FSL team have also been called in to assist in the investigation.
